being nosy...

so, i decided to start a blog for the twins (and my pregnancy for now) so our friends and family could come and find out what is going on without feeling like they are being nosy. i got the idea from a friend of mine who had twins. i think she got as bored as me while not being able to the normal things in life that make time go by faster!

anyhow, we are now at week 23!!! yipee! i am feeling the girls kick all the time! over the weekend, i actually saw my stomach move from a kick! i can usually tell which baby is moving when they kick up high. i have been having ultrasounds every two weeks, and at the last two ultrasounds the girls were head down. actually, their heads were right next to each other! it was really cute! i think they stay head down because of the way i feel things. i feel more flutters that feel kind of like gas bubbles where their heads are and then much more abrupt kicks up high. luckily, they have not begun to wake me up in the middle of the night --yet! i am enjoying all the sleep i can get!

the girls are growing at the rate of singleton babies, which is very good! we are hoping they will make it to 35 weeks, which is the average week for twins to be born. i have to be very careful with not being on my feet for too long at one time from here on out. i will be gradually tapering off at work in the next month or so. luckily, my boss is completely flexible and works well with everything i need!

last week we got the nursery painted! we painted it a color somewhere between yellow and orange. the main accent color is going to be pink with secondary accent colors being orange and possibly green. i have this super cool
fabric by heather bailey for the bedskirt i am going to make. the fabric is the inspiration for the color pallette.

matt is going to be ripping out the hideous purple carpet and refinishing the wood floors throughout the house (we have recently pulled up the carpet in the rest of the house). this is something i have been bugging him to do since before we bought the house, so i am extatic!!!

i have my next ultrasound a week from tomorrow! it is always so exciting to see their little hearts beat and arms wave! audrey (baby A) always waves to us in every ultrasound except for the first one! hailey (baby B) always hides and faces my spine every time. we think she is the shy one, but possibly mischevious! i felt audrey move way before hailey, which is probably because of her positioning. it will be really interesting to see how they are when they come out!!!

p.s. yes, i am obviously pregnant by now, and am outgrowing my first set of larger shirts! ahhh! i am sure i will get much, much, much larger!

thats it for now!
